Uh, hello everybody. I'm, um, I'm a little nervous. It's my first time writing⦠well, anything. Usually, I spend my days sleeping, going on walks, playing with sticks, begging for food, and sniffing my butt. But, on a ride with my human Jeremy the other day, I saw something that got me thinking about life and luck.
So, Jeremy is driving, and Iām pretty sure weāre going to the grocery store, which I was very, very relieved to discover because sometimes Jeremy tricks me and we end up at something called a Vet. (Zero out of ten. Do not recommend). Anyway, I relax when we hit the main street because Jeremy lets the window down a bit more for me, and I can catch the most amazing breeze. It's FANTASTIC. The sights. The sounds. The smells. ITāS SO MUCH FUN! But just as it's getting good, I see them.

Pulling up alongside us in a car with no roof is a human in sunglasses and a long-haired dog in the backseat. The car, I think you call them convertibles, is fast and shiny and SO VERY COOL. Now, Iāve really only seen cars like that on TV. Me and Jeremy love those Fast and Furious movies but we also watched this one movie where these two lady humans drove a convertible off a cliff while holding hands, and Jeremy tried to look away but I think he was crying. Anyway, the car is INCREDIBLE but that isn't the point. It was the dog in the backseat that had my attention. He had his head thrown back, his long hair flowing in the wind, his ears and tongue flapping like a flag. He even had his eyes closed. I'd never seen such bliss.
I felt the feeling I usually only feel when I smell steak or see someone eating⦠ANYTHING. Sometimes, I can beg, you know, do this thing where I dip my head down, make my eyes all big and sad, then sit patiently while staring intensely until Jeremy gives me some of his sandwich. But I didn't know what to do about this one. Could I give Jeremy my pretty-please-eyes in the hopes that he will buy us a convertible? It wouldn't have to be brand new or anything, and he could even take it to that Ice Cold Air place where he takes his truck and comes back smiling talking to his second-best buddy Mike about something called āsavings.ā
Anyway, the convertible pulled ahead of us with that lucky dog just enjoying that unfiltered wind, that delicious full-on breeze, and I slumped down in the backseat. When Jeremy turned into a parking lot and stopped the car, I slowly lifted my head back to the window.
It turned out we were going to the park and not the store. We got out the truck and Jeremy found this ABSOLUTELY AMAZING stick and we played with it FOREVER! Jeremy was smiling. I was jumping over logs and sliding and running in the grass. SO. MUCH. RUNNING! It was GREAT! I forgot all about the convertible and thought about my own life and how lucky I am to be so loved!
I guess what I'm trying to say is that we're all pretty lucky if we really think about it.
I want to thank the Ice Cold Air Newsletter for letting me share my thoughts and Ice Cold Air Complete Auto Repair for being such great pals to my human (those savings = MORE TREATS for me).
And thanks to you all for reading,
